Alexis Brignoni has been serving the area of Orlando, Florida for the last 14 years as a Special Agent of a Federal Law Enforcement agency. A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, he has a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and an MBA in Management of Information Systems. Before working as a digital forensics examiner, he was a case agent tasked with investigating online crimes against children, network intrusions, intellectual property and online fraud among others. Currently holding multiple digital forensics certifications, Alexis Brignoni has been focused on mobile app digital forensics as an area of interest due to the ever-evolving challenge of parsing a never-ending stream of new applications for relevant data. Chris Kelly is the Director of the Digital Evidence Laboratory for the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office. In this role, Chris supervises a team of forensic investigators who examine digital evidence and surmount technical challenges in criminal investigations. Prior to his appointment to this position, Chris served as Managing Attorney of the Cyber Crime Division, where he worked with the team to design and implement priority projects and trainings as set forth in the Massachusetts Strategic Plan for Cyber Crime. Before joining the Attorney General’s Office, Chris worked for the Suffolk County, Massachusetts, District Attorney’s Office, where he built and ran the Computer Forensic Laboratory. During his tenure in Suffolk, Chris also prosecuted cyber cases and assisted personnel with digital evidence in all types of criminal cases. Chris holds several digital forensic certifications including the GCFA, GASF, CCE, CCME, DFCP and 3CE. He develops curriculum and serves as a staff instructor at the United States Secret Service’s National Computer Forensic Institute. Chris also serves as an adjunct professor, designing and teaching digital forensics and criminal justice courses for the Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences at the University of New Haven. Chris serves as a leader or active member of several professional associations related to cybercrime and digital forensics including the IACP, AAFS, and OSAC.

Curtis Mutter joined Magnet Forensics in 2018 and has over 12 years of Product Management experience across a variety of software and hardware based industries including Enterprise content management, and professional A/V.

David has extensive experience in the US federal government through his 20 years of Federal services. Having served as the Chief Information Officer for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), David led the IT modernization of the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) mortgage loan systems and its $1.3 trillion portfolio, matured agency’s cybersecurity program and drove operational efficiencies using robotic process automation and artificial intelligence. Prior to his HUD role, he served as Principal Deputy CIO and Chief Information Security Officer with the National Credit Union Administration for seven years. During this same time, he was appointed as an Executive Advisor to the CIO of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) with a focus on cybersecurity programs and IT operational efficiencies. He also served in executive and leadership positions at the Department of Transportation and the White House.

David Miles is President of Magnet Forensics, where he oversees day-to-day activities and is responsible for managing the overall vision and strategy of the company. He has nearly 20 years of experience in cybersecurity. Prior to Magnet Forensics, David was also a co-founder and VP of R&D at Endgame which initially built cyber security capabilities for the government sector. Endgame later launched a commercial endpoint security platform pioneering active defense and “hunt” capabilities to discover threats and adversaries on the network. Endgame was acquired by Elastic (ESTC) in 2019 for $234 million. In addition, David has held technical and business development leadership roles at Optiv (formerly Accuvant) and Internet Security Systems (acquired by IBM in 2006).

Doug Metz is a Professional Services Consultant with Magnet Forensics. Doug has nearly 20 years of DFIR experience supporting government, private sector and academic institutions – from building and protecting secure networks, to defending them, to identifying and responding to compromises.

Prior to Magnet, Doug served as Global Incident Response Manager for a Fortune 200, managing a global team of analysts and the Security Operations Center. Doug is a member of the High Tech Crime Investigators Association (HTCIA) and is a volunteer for Magnet’s Auxtera Project.

Doug’s blog, BakerStreetForensics.com, focuses on DFIR tips and tricks, with an emphasis on PowerShell and Windows Subsystem for Linux.

Doug holds several industry certifications including: MCFE, MCME, MCCE, MCVE, GCIH, GCFE, GCFA, GCTI, GREM, CISSP, NW3C CCE.

Drew Roberts joined Magnet Forensics in 2018 and has over 10 years experience in product management. Since joining Magnet Drew’s primary focus has been serving the unique needs of Magnet’s private sector customer base. Drew played a key role in the product launches of AXIOM Cyber and AUTOMATE Enterprise, and currently serves as Director, Product Management for private sector DFIR.

Prior to joining Magnet Drew spent 8 years in financial services software, helping provide solutions to major banks targeted at both treasury and consumer banking. Drew holds a Bachelor of Mathematics in Honours Computer Science with a business option from the University of Waterloo.

Ervin Daniels, MBA, CISSP, CCSP, CBCP, Sr. Security Architect – Americas for IBM. He has over 25 years of technology and Security leadership and practitioner experience across different industry verticals. 

Before joining IBM in 2016, he worked as an Information Security Engineer at Equifax as part of the Security Operations team. Before Equifax, he also worked at Atlanta Public Schools as a Sr. Network Security Engineer and at Georgia Pacific, where he worked for 15 years in several roles as IT Specialist, Network Server Administrator, and Business Continuity management.

Ervin is also the author and editor of Cybersecurity Defense-in-Depth at https://ervindaniels.com/. His passion is to share all of the knowledge and experience he’s gained over the years and to provide a platform where like-minded individuals can network and learn about Cybersecurity.

Evangelos Dragonas, PhD, is a researcher at the Department of Digital Systems, University of Piraeus (Greece). His research focuses on the field of Digital Forensics. He also works as a Digital Forensics Examiner and holds CFCE, MCFE, and MCME certifications.

Giuseppe Totaro is a Senior Specialist in digital forensics. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Sapienza University of Rome in 2015. His research and development work is mainly focused on high performance computing, programming and digital forensics.

Greg Ward has been with Magnet Forensics for 4 years, first starting as a product manager before moving to the Professional Services team. He started out focusing on Magnet AXIOM Process before taking the product management lead on Magnet AUTOMATE. Before Magnet, he worked in product management at Canon Medical with a focus on automated data processing for Radiology and Cardiology. This blended background of experiences in product management with different disciplines has given him a keen insight into how industries evolve and grow from small-scale data processing tools to enterprise-scale solutions that meet the rising tide of digital data. He applies that knowledge and expertise in consulting on the implementation of our Magnet Digital Investigation Suite.

After several years combating crime as a police officer and digital forensics investigator, Jad Saliba decided to expand his impact by founding Magnet Forensics in 2011. He wanted to address the challenges caused by the constantly increasing presence of technology in modern crime. As Chief Innovation Officer at Magnet Forensics, Jad is focused on staying ahead of criminals in all of their attempts to stay hidden in the digital world—often in cases involving terrorism, child exploitation, or corporate cybercrime. Jean-François’ career began in IT systems management a little over ten years ago before specializing in cybersecurity. He spent a few years acting as a consultant (KPMG Egyde) and responding to crisis situations around the world in large organizations during cyberattacks. Jean-François then joined the National Bank of Canada team to support their cyber defense team and help advance the cyber incident response practice. His motivation has always been to help, using his skills, to prevent cyberattacks and to complicate, as much as possible, the life of cybercriminals.

Jessica Hyde is an experienced forensic examiner in both the government and commercial sectors. She is the founder of Hexordia and an Adjunct Professor teaching Mobile Forensics in the Digital Forensics graduate program at George Mason University, where she achieved an MS in Computer Forensics. She is also involved in several community efforts including Associate Editor for the Forensic Science International: Digital Investigations Journal, Chair of DFIR Review, 2nd VP on the International Executive Committee of the High Tech Crime Investigation Association, and advisory board for Cyber Sleuths Lab. Her previous roles include Director of Forensics at Magnet Forensics, Senior Mobile Exploitation Analyst for Basis Technology, Senior at EY, and Senior Electrical Engineer at American Systems. Jessica is also proud to be a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

Jon Evans joined Magnet’s Product Marketing team in March 2020, supporting the company’s solutions for our Public Safety customers.

Jon has over 20 years of international experience in tech as both a marketer and product manager, including roles at BlackBerry Inc. and TCL Technology.

Julie Lewis, President, CEO and Founder of Digital Mountain, has over 30 years of experience working in the high technology industry and has been a long-time user of social media. One of the key focus areas of her company is on social media investigations, preservations and monitoring. Prior to founding Digital Mountain, Julie worked at VERITAS Software with next-generation storage, security and search companies. At VERITAS, she managed operations for new product releases across sales, marketing, product management, legal, engineering and customer support. Before joining VERITAS, Julie worked in the venture capital and investment banking industries in both the Silicon Valley and Boston areas focusing on the Internet Infrastructure, security and software sectors.

In addition, Julie worked for two of the Big 4 accounting firms doing financial and IT auditing, as well as M&A due diligence as a CPA. She also worked for Applied Magnetics, a publicly traded provider of disk and tape drive components. Julie earned an MBA under fellowship from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College and a BA in both Business Economics and Sociology from the University of California at Santa Barbara. She is a member of the High Tech Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA), American Bar Association, Sedona Conference’s Working Groups on E-mail Management and Archiving (WG1) and Data Security and Privacy Liability (WG11), Cloud Security Alliance and has received her EnCE (Encase Certification in Computer Forensics). Julie is founding Director of the Silicon Valley Chapter of Women in eDiscovery and co-author of “The Sedona Conference Primer on Social Media.

Kevin Davis is a former Sergeant with the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office and served as the lead digital forensics examiner during his time there. After leaving the Sheriff’s Office, Kevin pursued an I.T. Career with a focus on building, securing, and managing DoD Cloud Enclaves at CloudFit Software.

Kevin Pagano is a digital forensics analyst, researcher, blogger and contributor to the open-source community. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Forensics from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and a Graduate Certificate in Digital Forensics from Champlain College. Kevin is a member of the GIAC Advisory Board and holds several industry certifications, including the GIAC Advanced Smartphone Forensics (GASF), GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner (GCFE), and GIAC Battlefield Forensics and Acquisition (GBFA), and the Certified Cellebrite Mobile Examiner (CCME) among others. Kevin is the creator of the Forensics StartMe page and regularly shares his research on his blog stark4n6.com. He is a published author with multiple peer-reviewed papers accepted through DFIR Review. Kevin also contributes to multiple open-source projects, including but not limited to ALEAPP, iLEAPP, RLEAPP, CLEAPP and KAPE. Kevin is a regular competitor in the digital forensics CTF circuit. He has multiple first place finishes in competitions hosted by SANS, Magnet, Belkasoft, BloomCon and more. Kim Bradley retired from the Commonwealth of Kentucky where she worked the last nine years of her career as Forensic Computer Examiner with the Kentucky State Police (KSP). She was assigned to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Cyber Crime Task Force and worked for five years at the Kentucky Regional Forensics Laboratory (KRCFL). While at the KRCFL, she earned the Computer Analysis Response Team (CART) Forensic Examiner certification and served as the Laboratory Quality Manager. After returning to KSP’s Electronic Crime Branch Laboratory from the task force assignment, she became a Certified Law Enforcement Instructor with the Kentucky Law Enforcement Counsel and provided numerous training classes for sworn officers, intelligence analysts and other support personnel while also working mainly Internet Crimes Against Children examinations. Prior to her retirement, she helped to establish and manage a satellite KSP Digital Forensics Laboratory on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University. Her state service before moving into digital forensics included positions in software development and database management. In addition to holding several certifications, Kim has degrees in Early Childhood Education, Computer Science and a Master of Science degree in Digital Forensic

Matt is a graduate of the US Naval Academy and served as a naval intelligence officer. Since leaving active duty in 2012, Matt has been focused on bringing innovation into the law enforcement and public safety communities. After working at multiple startups in the law enforcement space, Matt joined AWS in January 2018, where he focuses on working with agencies and technology companies to solve critical problems facing the public safety community.

Matthieu Regnery is a Principal Forensic Engineer at Magnet Forensics (former Grayshift) focused on providing access to data. He is a subject matter expert in Mobile Forensics, and a registered expert witness in France. Prior to joining Grayshift, Matthieu spent eight years in the French Gendarmerie as a digital forensic examiner and head of their data extraction lab. Then he joined Facebook part of their abuse team and when he left, he founded his own company to conduct examinations for justice and law enforcement.

Mitch Kajzer is a professor at the University of Notre Dame. Kajzer works in the Center for Research Computing and is the Director of Cybercrimes Investigation, Research, and Education (CIRE). In addition, Kajzer has been in law enforcement since 1989 and is also the Executive Director of the St. Joseph County, IN Cyber Crimes Unit. Kajzer has an associate degree in criminal justice, a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and a master’s degree in psychology. Kajzer also holds several computer industry technology certifications.

Bianca Burnett is a Forensic Research Scientist in Cybercrimes Investigation, Research, and Education (CIRE) at the University of Notre Dame. Bianca holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the university of Notre Dame and is a certified digital forensics examiner. Burnett conducts digital forensics research, develops technology training courses, and serves as an instructor for academic and law enforcement courses.

Preston McNair is a Forensics Trainer for Magnet Forensics where you can find him enthusiastically delivering content on mobile operating systems. Prior to Magnet, Preston had a varied background in law enforcement-based investigations. This includes working for the State of West Virginia as a Digital Forensic Examiner, where he established a digital forensics laboratory focused on narcotics and violent crime related investigations for all levels of government. Outside the classroom, his research efforts primarily focus on everything mobile and the general Apple ecosystem.

Dr. Stephen Boyce currently serves as the Director of the Magnet Digital Investigation Suite (MDIS) at Magnet Forensics, where he provides strategic direction to internal and external stakeholders on modernizing digital investigations and managing human and cyber risk.

Steve Gemperle was a Senior Special Agent with the United States Secret Service who specializes in cyber-crime. Steve joined the US Secret Service in 1999 and served with the US Secret Service until retiring in 2021. For the last decade of his career with the Secret Service he focused on computer crimes and served as Lab Director for the US Secret Service Southwest Regional Computer Forensic Lab. Steve has completed over 1900 forensic exams and 150 network intrusion investigations while working for the Secret Service, and has been recognized as one of the US Secret Service’s top network intrusion investigators.. After retirement, Steve joined Magnet Forensics as a Forensic Consultant.

Thirumalai Natarajan is a Senior Manager with Mandiant Consulting, now part of Google Cloud, where he leads incident response and remediation engagements for large-scale breaches and proactive security assessments for global organizations. Over his career experience, Thiru has built and managed security operation centers and detection engineering teams across APAC to support organizations to improve their detection and defense posture. He has advisory experience with CXO’s and senior management across industries during the time of compromise. He has spoken in various conferences such as Black Hat Asia, Virus Bulletin, BSides SG, SANS summits, RSA, AVAR and many others.

Trey Amick is a forensics investigator with a background in both law enforcement and corporate investigations. As a detective with the Rock Hill Police Department in South Carolina, Trey was sworn as a Special Deputy United States Marshal and supported the US Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Force. Previously, he served in roles in both Patrol and Professional Standards.

Most recently, as a corporate investigator, Trey managed the Enterprise Cyber Education and Awareness Team at Capital One, where he also served as part of the Cyber Technical Investigations Team. Trey is currently the Director of the Forensic Consultants at Magnet Forensics, where he assists in the development of Magnet AXIOM and AXIOM Cyber and provides skilled support to customers with his combined knowledge of Magnet’s tools and digital forensics.
